In addition, there will be amazing presentations from wonderful organizations such as The Thirst Project and others. A Message from our Governor
Hello Mighty New York District!
It is that time of the year again! Time to start thinking about the 67th Annual Leadership Training Conference. This is a time where the entire district comes together to celebrate the many goals that we attained and the many people that we served. I encourage you to look through the Awards Booklet and apply for the many awards that you all deserve.
We have brought back many things like Playfair and Board Auctions and we are already preparing workshops so you can learn and have fun all while celebrating the service that you have completed the past year. We are working diligently to try and incorporate the theme of Espionage into the conference in every way possible. Expect to see a whole lot of black suits and cool shades when you attend the 67th Annual Leadership Training Conference! It is sure to be a blast and I can’t wait to see you there.

The submission of the Distinguished Key Clubber Award has been changed to an online submission system where you can create an account to submit your application. The online application is located at http://dkc-app.nydkc.org. While this is the recommended method of applying, you can still mail your applications to the Awards Committee Chairs!

District Office Elections
At Leadership Training Conference, we elect the Governor, Secretary, and Treasurer who will be leading the District in the following year. We will also be choosing candidates to endorse as they make their way to running for international office.
Please look through the Elections packet below if you are interested in running for higher office. Included are the agreement forms that must be sent to Mr. Goldstein no later than February 1, 2015. You will also find all the necessary resources to learn more about the higher office positions and the duties that they entail.
Apply to be a Conference Staff!
We always need volunteers to help make sure that the conference runs smoothly! Conference Staff work to ensure that all participants have the most fun-filled, and safe experience possible. Such responsibilities as conference staff include manning the security desk, ensuring all workshops have the materials needed to run successfully, patrolling and enforcing curfews, and directing participants to and from events. All those who are chosen as conference staff will arrive at the hotel a day early (March 26).
Any Key Clubber excluding those on the District Board, in good standing with Key Club International and the New York District may apply to be a member of the Conference Staff.
The requirements for Conference Staff are as follows:
- Complete the online application and have one (1) letter of recommendation by January 30, 2015
- Be attending Leadership Training Conference from March 27-29
- Be available during the entire conference to complete various tasks
- Be able to stay focused and on task
- Be charismatic and have a sense of humor!
Conference Staff Members will get a discounted LTC Registration rate of $100.

Bylaws Amendment Proposals
As a Key Club member, it is your duty to make sure that the bylaws that guide our district are fair and represent the goals of our organization. Please review these amendments that will be voted on at the House of Delegates. We want to make sure that changes proposed will be able to better our clubs, divisions, the mighty New York District.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where will Leadership Training Conference be held this year?
It will be held at the Desmond Hotel this year and in the foreseeable future.
How do I register an entire club?
When registering online, you must register the advisor/chaperone first.
After you register a participant, please click “Add Another Person” until all of your participants are entered. “Please make sure to choose the correct category for each registrant (ie: Key Club Member or Advisor). This will ensure that you are billed correctly. Please also register your students in gender order, this helps with rooming.
How much does the conference cost?
The conference costs $280.00 per Key Club Member, and $300 per Key Club Advisor or Chaperone (single rooms available for $600). This includes all conference costs.
Why is the price online $3.95 less than the advertised price?
An administrative fee will be added on ($3.95 per person) to the total cost at the end of the registration form. All costs are as advertised.
Do I have to register online?
Yes, all registration for the Leadership Training Conference must be completed online. The process is quick and easy!
Do I have to give my student’s individual email addresses?
Yes, we do need all students’ individual information. This will only be used for distributing important information before the conference and to administer a survey after the conference is over.
How do I make changes to my registration?
To make changes, email email@example.com with any requested changes to your attendees or information. We will process the change and get respond to you in a timely manner.
Will my students be roomed together at the conference?
All students from the same club will be roomed in the same room and as close to one another as possible. The hotel will also place students near their listed faculty advisor/chaperone. A room will have either four boys or four girls with TWO beds. If you wish to submit a rooming list, please email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please also register your students in gender order, this helps with rooming.
When do I pay for the conference?
Once you submit the online registration, you will receive a confirmation page. Please print this page out and mail it to the listed address along with payment. No registration or rooming will be confirmed until payment is received.
Are there other forms that are required?
Yes, students must also bring copies of their Medical Release Form and Delegate Registration Form with them to the conference.
How does my club submit for awards?
Those interested in being considered for awards should research available awards and criteria in the Awards Booklet, located on the LTC Website.
My school administration requires an invoice, how can we receive one?
On your confirmation page, and in your confirmation email, you will see a link for “Invoice”. Click here for a copy of your club’s printable invoice. Contact email@example.com if you have any problems finding this document.
